Fern Forest Hale Stay
Reviewed on 2024-07-31 by , Overland Park, KS United StatesWe really enjoyed the house. The description online was accurate, and the house generally met our needs well. The house was very clean and had plenty of room for our family of five. We loved the isolation of the house, and the quiet neighborhood. It was fun falling asleep at night.

My only critical feedback is related to the condition of some of the appliances. Both the washing machine and the coffee maker were broken when we arrived at the property, leaving us unable to clean our clothes or make coffee the first day there. The property management company was responsive to texts the first day or two, and brought a replacement coffee maker up to the house. Unfortunately, they were unable to find a repair technician or or a replacement washing machine in the first 48 hours, and didn't give us any further updates for the duration of our stay. So, we ended up having to spend a few hours driving to a separate laundromat in order to clean our clothes. If everything had been in working order, we would have been entirely satisfied with our time in this rental property.
Fantastic!

New clean and beautiful home
Reviewed on 2023-08-10 by Dana N. , Pickerington, OH United StatesWe had a great time staying for a short stay in Ferns and Frogs Forest Hale while we explored the national park and the east side of the island. We really enjoyed the porch and grill. We had a good time making dinner. It is a brand new home and we enjoyed the space and the beds are very comfortable.
A Great Place to Stay When Visiting Volcanoes National Park
Reviewed on 2023-06-08 by Betsy D. , Kailua-Kona, HI USThe home was very nicely furnished, with plenty of comfortable spaces for our group. We especially enjoyed the comfy seating and fireplace in the living room.
The kitchen was very well equipped, with one minor inconvenience. We wished there was a larger frying pan/skillet when cooking breakfast for our group of 5, but we did fine using 2 smaller pans.
The property manager was great, readily available to answer any questions we had.
Overall, this was a terrific place to stay, and we'll definitely consider it for future visits to the Volcano.
This home, just a few minutes from the national park and Volcano Village, was a great option for our 2-day visit to Volcanoes National Park.

The home was very nicely furnished, with plenty of comfortable spaces for our group. Clean, Comfortable, PERFECT
Reviewed on 2021-12-28 by , Oklahoma City, OK USThe property is close to Volcano National Park, in a quiet neighborhood. We loved how peaceful it was, especially enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning on the covered patio. The house was exceptionally clean and came with everything we needed.

Lovely though remote
Reviewed on 2021-08-09 by , Fremont, CA USIt was nice to lounge on the huge couch tho wifi connection was spotty so TV/movies were tough. Also the ants were hard to control - inside and out.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay.
This home had roomy, well laid-out bedrooms, bathrooms, and living room. Its remote location had pros and cons. The feeling of being 'out in the Hilo jungle' was fun and the 1st night the sky was so starry you could see the milky way. But it was really far to get to anywhere so we probably ended up doing less than we would have otherwise.
It was nice to lounge on the huge couch tho wifi connection was spotty so TV/movies were tough. Enjoyed it All
Reviewed on 2020-02-03 by , Simpsonville, SC USWe stayed for four weeks and were very pleased, it lived up to our expectations. As a retired science teacher, I was in my element. On any day you could drive 10-15 miles and have a complete change of weather. Take time to drive to Naalehu and enjoy the shrimp plate at Aloha Mix Food Truck and the bakery across the street from it, YUM
