Hale Anuenue Nuku - The Rainbows End [1]
Not recommended.
Reviewed on 2024-07-22 by David F. , Fullerton, CA USI was very disappointed in the property. Most problematic was the property was several miles from where it is shown on the map attached to the VRBO listing. I was in HI to visit family in Hilo and picked the property in large part because of the indicated location. Turns out, property management must have known about issue, because while I booked my reservation in early May, a review was posted to VRBO in June with the same complaint. The seemingly intentional misrepresentation caused me substantial more time driving each day, not to mention the gas, and having to plan my trips to visit my family around the morning and evening work-hour traffic that causes traffic to move at a snail's pace. Once we left the property, it was difficult to return until we were calling it a day due to the extra distance. I contacted the property management company and the local manager who said they'd escalate the situation to the company director. That was on a Tuesday. By the time we'd checked out on Sunday, we'd not heard back. Multiple texts and calls went unanswered.
Also, the photos on the VRBO site seem to have been taken by a staging company. The property is very dark, and dimly lit, not as shown. There isn't a dishwasher, as indicated in the listed amenities. There is no deadbolt on the front door, as listed in the amenities. There is no DINING ROOM TABLE, as shown in the photos. We had to use a tiny side table and pull chairs up to it just to eat together.
And if you don't like waking at 6am each morning, DO NOT rent this property. There are roosters that crow incessantly from sunrise to sunset. And dogs next door that compete with them.
In addition to the above, there were half drank water bottle left in a bedroom, an opened sugar packet left in the fridge, and a prior guest's sock left under the bed that we found when double-checking for our belongings when departing the rental. And the clothes dryer made a very loud screeching noise when i
Rustic for sure
Reviewed on 2024-06-16 by Eric P. , Lake Mary, FL USWe weren't terribly happy with this property. For one, we rented through VRBO, and the listing location on the map there was not at all where we expected it. We regretted not having air conditioning; you can open up the house a lot but that only goes so far in June. Having to sleep with all the windows open might sound nice, but the neighborhood is really noisy; lots of chickens and dogs that go all night. Lots of critters inside the house -- some cute; some not. The landscaping could be beautiful but unfortunately is just plain neglected; it's a mess. The furniture and decor are very old. Provisions (towels, kitchen equipment, etc.) are adequate but not plentiful. This could be a fine rental property but it needs a lot of work.

Reviewed on 2024-02-24 by , Coralville, IA United StatesThe property was well manicured and had plenty of mature foliage.
The pictures of the house were accurate and very clean.
The customer service was excellent. We had one issue with the garbage disposal. I notified Hawaii Life and they has maintenance out to the house in less than 15 minutes.
