The pictures do no lie. Fantastic view of the water. Saw whales once fairly close, the other time farther out. Turtles on the beach sunning everyday. The unit was very nicely equipped with everything you need. Again, the pictures do not lie. The property is kept up daily by an older gentleman that I assume is the “manager.” The green space between the complex and beach is very well kept. There is hose by a tree where you a rinse off your feet, shoes after being on the beach. There are two shopping districts and a food truck area (about 10 food trucks) within a 5 to 10 minute walk. Lots of restaurants in the shopping areas.

Patrick and Jessie were very communicative both before, during, and after our trip! They made it easy to adjust to our island stay. The condo was beautiful and comfortable. Loved having access to the beach, right outside the building. It is also a great location for traveling all over the island. We loved our stay and look forward to returning!

Amazing all around. Location couldn’t be better. The rental was surrounded by great food, beaches, you name it. Upon arrival the check in process was super easy and contactless. It was very nicely cleaned and just as the pictures portray it to be. 100% recommend this rental.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Hale Kai O'Kihei and we love it. Our primary criteria for a condo is to have an ocean front unit so we can watch whales without going anywhere. This resort has that plus an adjacent sandy beach (often shared by large sea turtles taking a rest) where you can leisurely take a stroll while watching spectacular sunsets. Since the sun sets directly into the ocean (during winter), people come from all around to watch while you can sit back with a drink on your lanai with an even better view.
The unit is very clean and is extremely well furnished with everything you might want. My wife is especially happy with the kitchen...we have stayed at many condo rentals, and this kitchen was by far the best equipped – everything from a selection pots and pans, cooking dishes, and coffee pots, to Tupperware for leftovers. Plus there were plenty of utensils (including SHARP knives), dishes and a variety of glassware. The kitchen is big enough for 2 of us to work on meal prep while watching for whales out the large glass doors.
This second-floor unit has a nice lanai that looks directly out onto the ocean and has a motorized sun shade for afternoons if the sun is too bright. The bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed and pillows and has great closet space with a powerful ceiling fan. The bathroom has a beautiful tiled shower and unique etched glass door plus a full-size washing machine which spins clothes so dry that they easily finish drying if hung in the closet overnight.
We will definitely be returning.

Our first impression upon arriving in the unit was that it was everything we wanted and better than advertised...
The bedroom was plenty spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The closet had enough room to store our clothes and empty suitcases plus a good supply of very luxurious beach towels, and top of the line beach equipment. The bathroom is one-of-a -kind with a beautiful large etched glass shower door and washing machine.
The kitchen was our favorite place as we like to prepare our own meals. This condo had everything from wine opener and really sharp knives to all the pots and pans for meal prep and plenty of glasses, dishes, and nice silverware for serving, plus lots of storage containers for left-overs; plus new large Weber BBQ’s at each end of the building. But the BEST part of the Kitchen was the VIEW!! Being able to look out at the ocean and watch for whales while doing meal prep was a major factor in our selecting this unit.
The living room was very nice, but we really spent most of our time on the lanai. We ate all our meals on the lanai watching whales and listening to the surf. The electric sunscreen was really nice since the sun comes directly into the unit in the afternoon – but this also means the sun sets directly out in front of the complex, so we had some great sunset views.
The beach right outside the unit extends about a half mile each way so provided a nice place for a 2 mile stroll every morning while watching whale activity and people on stand-up-boards getting long rides on gentle waves. And it was very peaceful listening to the waves on the beach at night.
We have stayed at several vacation rentals in Maui, and this was by far the best located and equipped unit we have been to. The location was handy groceries and many other small shops and restaurants, but a block off the busy street so street noise was minimal,

The condo itself had already been upgraded to all high end finishes including fans in bedroom and kitchen area plus a/c. Loved the retractable screen on the lanai, helped a lot keeping the condo cool. Overall we were happy with everything but found the floors had not been cleaned well prior to our arrival. A variety of condiments and spices could be found plus everything we could want for our stay. Found several large beach towels, 2 snorkeling sets, cooler bags, paddling boards. Grocery stores, restaurants, even a drug store are all within walking distance.Even without all the above the view alone reminds you that this is paradise! A short walk across the lawn under the swaying palm trees to the beach and ocean edge, sitting on the lanai watching the sunset, couldn’t ask for anything more!! The new management team were very welcoming and were quick to respond to any questions. Hated to leave but will be back.
