A holiday feast
Reviewed on 2024-03-24 by Alan B. , Corrales, NM United StatesWe rented this house to bring our family together to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday. The property was ideally suited for my wife and our three children and their spouses. Five bedrooms, all with in suite baths. Vary spacious and comfortable. Location was fantastic, overlooking the golf course, an ideal spot for watching spectacular sunsets. Fifteen minutes to Hanalei beach. The house is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Of special note; our family enjoys cooking together when we meet up and this home has the best equipped kitchen we have ever encountered in a vacation rental, bar none.
Amazing Home!!
Reviewed on 2023-07-12 by Dusty P. , San Antonio, TX USWonderful place to bring a large family. We were a group of 9 and had plenty of space and then some. The views are amazing from every spot in the house!! The main kitchen was more that well equipped for cooking and had everything that you to feel at home!! We were nervous about the whole house not having central heat and air but it was never an issue. We can't say enough good things about this house and can not wait to return!!

Reviewed on 2023-07-11 by , Oakland, CA USWe were 3 generations in the house and we head a great time. The house was spacious and comfortable and everyone could spread out. The dining table fit most of us and the outdoor lanai was great for meals. The location is very close to many activities and the grocery store. The local roosters like to crow early. The view of the ocean and Napali coast is wonderful.

A Little Disappointing
Reviewed on 2022-09-25 by Susie F. , Bonners Ferry, ID United StatesThe second issue was the condition of the house and the response from the agency. When we checked in, we spent a lot of the first day reporting issues, some because we didn’t want to be charged for damages that existed, and some that were a problem. The list included: cabinet door with broken hinge, kitchen window that wouldn’t close, no tv remote for kitchen, two burners on cooktop that weren’t functional, sliding door handle ready to fall off, upstairs sink broken, washing machine on main floor broken, dirty cabinets, ants all over kitchen, water leaking on floor from refrigerator, broken beach chairs and missing umbrella parts. The worst of the issues were the ants and the water. As far as the ants, the next day a young man came and cleaned like it was supposed to have been cleaned (he said there was sugar all over the pantry) and we were given any bait. I spent the next 3-4 days baiting and spraying ants. As far as the water leaking out, the agent’s response to me was “that isn’t good “ and that was it. Nothing was ever done and we continued to mop up water. All in all, expected more.
The first part is on us. We didn’t realize that A/C was going to be a big issue. It was very hot during our stay and the people on the main floor baked. It was terrible.
The second issue was the condition of the house and the response from the agency. Amazing Kauai Vacation!
Reviewed on 2022-08-10 by Lisa B. , Coral Springs, FL United StatesThis is the best house. Lot's of rooms with King beds and AC upstairs. The location is absolutely perfect. Very short walk to Queen's Bath trailhead (my husband and son went down 4 times). Beautiful sunsets. Had all breakfasts and many dinners in the well appointed kitchen. With 4 different families, everyone had space to spread out and enjoy a little alone time if they wanted to. I would highly recommend and hope to go back some day.

Great Views
Reviewed on 2022-07-18 by Brady L. , Northport, AL United StatesI was very satisfied with the house and location. My whole family of 12 fit comfortably. 2 washers and 2 dryers were very convenient. The 2nd floor kitchen is large and spacious. The main floor is not conditioned, so I recommend acquiring a few cheap box fans. The views are amazing. Nearby you will find a grocery store and restaurants. Hanalei Bay is just down the mountain with all it has to offer. The Dolphin Restaurant is excellent, no reservations, so arrive early. I recommend this rental to any larger families.

Great - Place | Location | Room for All
Reviewed on 2022-07-09 by ricky p. , plano, TX USThe views are amazing and I found myself out there each day watching the sunset.
Please be aware there is only AC on the top level and it can get a bit warm on the lower levels. It would be good if there were some larger fans in the house to move more air.
I would stay here again.
Stayed here with the entire family and happy we chose this place... so much room, enough to hang out as a family and enough room for everyone to stretch out. The home is in great shape and the kitchen has everything you need to cook nice family meals.

The views are amazing and I found myself out there each day watching the sunset.

Please be aware there is only AC on the top level and it can get a bit warm on the lower levels. Staying Near Hanalei
Reviewed on 2022-03-07 by , Redwood City, CA USI stayed at Hale Ohana Nui with 10 other friends. The house is tri-level, with 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. 4 of the bedrooms have a single bed, and the last bedroom has two sets of bunk beds. Each level has a fridge and sink. It's a pretty great setup for a large group, with 3 dishwashers and two sets of washers/dryers. I wouldn't consider it private, as it is right next to two homes, but the neighborhood was quiet. Walking distance to Queen's Bath trail, and convenient drive to Anini Beach and Hanalei Bay. Nice views from the top floor. We really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful home in paradise
Reviewed on 2021-09-01 by , Greenwich, CT United StatesI was hesitant to book this home because I didn’t see any reviews online. But overall, this was as good as a vacation rental can get. There was a helpful printout featuring all the house rules, the light switches were labeled, great beach supplies, and the house is stocked with working appliances and toiletries, etc. when I reached out to the property manager to ask about gas for the grill she responded right away. Gas is actually a direct feed to the grill, so no propane needed! Filtered water in the sink for water bottles, great towels and linens. Perfect sunset views every night. Easy check in/check out process.

Walking distance to beaches and trails, Makai clubhouse, Hideaways Pizza Pub, Happy Talk Restaurant, and less than two miles from the shops and restaurants at Princeville Center, you’ll love the ease of access this wonderful vacation home provides.
Hale Ohana Nui, (appropriately named “big, family house” in Hawaiian), is a five-thousand square foot, split-level home, perfect for groups who require plenty of space to spread out. There are three separate floors on this home, each with it’s own kitchen, living area, and covered lanai. The top floor features a massive chef’s kitchen with high-end appliances, including a gas-range and dedicated wine fridge. The dining area features a beautiful, wooden table and the entertainment area flows from the kitchen and opens to an expansive, outdoor lanai. The upstairs also has cold air-conditioning for those rare, late summer days without trade winds.
The spacious, primary bedroom suite is also on the top floor and features a California king-sized bed, a separate sitting area with small library, and a private, covered lanai. There is an exquisite en-suite bathroom with dual vanities, two separate rain showers, a jetted soaking tub and large, walk-in closet.
The entry level of the home features another expansive living room that opens to a covered lanai with plenty of seating. There are three additional master bedrooms with king beds and en-suite bathrooms. The fourth bedroom features two bunk bed sets and is perfect for families with children. The entire home is tastefully decorated and features an abundance of local art and photography that has been collected by the owners throughout the years.
The downstairs level of the home is a wonderful space to hang out after a long day of exploring and boasts a regulation-size pool table, a large HD TV with cable, covered lanai. There is also a full bathroom, wet bar, and two futon couches that convert to extra sleeping space.
This home sits on an oversized lot and is surrounded by mature, tropical plants. It is the perfect basecamp for families or small groups looking for privacy with an abundance of space. Just minutes from Hanalei Bay and Anini Beach, Hale Ohana Nui has everything you need to make all your Kauai dreams come true!
