Perfect Studio in Kaanapali is
Reviewed on 2024-03-19 by , Fort Collins, CO USOur family of 4 stayed in this perfect studio and had a great time. Our 2 kids (7 & 11) slept on the pullout couch, we asked for a foam mattress topper which was an extra charge but worth it! The kids slept great. The condo has everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked as far as utensils, wish they were able to keep some things like oil and salt and pepper but I understand it’s probably not the best to keep those things around. They have coffee enough for a few days so that’s definitely a bonus! The lanai is like a whole other outside space, we loved being able to open the whole lanai and feel the ocean breeze and hear the waves. We watched whales from our bed!

The location was awesome. The pools were beautiful and walking to the beach was easy. The beach right in front is a bit rocky/coral but it’s easy to walk south to a better spot to swim with the kids. You can just snorkel right out in front of the resort. The studio had everything you need for the beach, 4 beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys and coolers which was so nice to not have to bring those. The resort provides beach towels that can be switched out when needed. The beach walk is right in front and is fun to explore. There is a food truck park just north of the hotel which was nice to grab an easy quick dinner. The times grocery store is also right behind the resort which was nice to grab some groceries. The general store in the lobby has anything you need in a pinch but it definitely costs a little more for the convenience. Dukes also has great food & drinks and it’s right on the resort.

I was worried about traveling to Maui because of the Lahaina fire, you have to drive through Lahaina (there is a bypass road that you take)to get to Honua Kai, it is definitely sad to see the devastation that happened and to know so many people have lost their homes. But people are generally grateful and happy for you visiting.

I hope we can get back again s

Reviewed on 2024-01-12 by , Lac Du Bonnet, MB UnknownVery disappointed in the sleeper pull out which was a love seat and much to narrow to accommodate 2 people.
Manager's Response
We hope that you enjoyed a wonderful vacation in Konea 731. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed in the sleeper sofa. This the standard couch and sleeper sofa that we have in many of our properties and is a full queen pull out. We haven't heard of this issue ever before but we do our very best to be transparent in all of our representations about all of our properties. Aloha and take care.
BEAUTIFUL VIEW/UNIT AT HONUA KAI
Reviewed on 2023-12-29 by Stephanie S. , St Paul, MN USSaw whales from the balcony a few times (spouts and tails). This is THE reason that I book at HK. Nothing beats coffee and whale tails :)
Appreciated slightly early check in.
Fully stocked kitchen. Full package of coffee and several creamers provided - thank you!. Like all the units I've stayed in at HK, not really any other spices or sugars, oils, etc in the kitchen. All the pots/pans, wine/bottle opener, plastic and glass wine glasses. Appreciated gift of chocolates and bag of coffee.
Great assortment of beach chairs, cooler, beach towels for use in the closet.
Washer/dryer worked great, there happened to be some laundry detergent and fabric softener.
Heads up that this unit is at "2nd tower" called "Konea". It is every bit as fantastic as the main/first tower (maybe even better since it's a little quieter). There is a public beach access next door, but you won't notice at all.
I only gave 4/5 stars for cleanliness because there were a few issues that I reported to the management after my stay was complete (I would have reported sooner, and I am sure they would have helped right away, but I was too busy having fun!). But 5 stars is "spotless" and it wasn't a "spotless" experience.
The pools and the beach are awesome. So is Dukes! (although I didn't go this time).
Underground parking is nice - be prepared to hunt for a spot if you're coming back late at night (that is always the case at HK).
Hope to stay here again!!
