Lovely views, but older property
Reviewed on 2022-07-26 by , PALO ALTO, CA United StatesThe good stuff:
- The kitchen was well equipped, and we were able to make family meals easily.
- Pool was lovely.
- Views were incredible.
- There are fans and AC to stay cool.
- Location is great.
- There were games, pool toys and snorkel gear which we used.
- Beds were very comfortable.
- Property manager was very responsive.
The downsides:
- The master bed upstairs is probably a small queen or large double. I'm recovering from an injury and need a bit of extra space, so unfortunately my husband and I had to stay downstairs in the larger bed with a more limited view.
- The blinds didn't cover all the windows, so if you have little kids just something to be aware of.
- The place is a bit older than we expected and the windows don't close properly, few gaps around the edges etc., so the kids got bitten a few nights.

A slice of paradise
Reviewed on 2022-06-21 by , Plain City, OH USWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location & views were amazing! North Shore is our favorite part of Kauai. The rental was spacious, clean, tastefully decorated & on a quiet street. The pool was a bonus for the kids and lovely way to end our day. My only negative comment would be to bring the outdoor shower to good working order. It was a wonderful place to spend our vacation.

Paradise
Reviewed on 2022-06-17 by , Erie, CO United StatesThere was also an outside shower near the trash can to rinse all of the things, which was really nice. The open air feeling (and AC when you need it)... I was worried there was only 1 TV in the ground level bedroom, but I didn't miss it at all. We sat up at night and played games, swam in the pool (that needs a new light btw) and listened to the wind. Every morning we were awakened by birds chirping and roosters crowing. We didn't need the support of our concierge while there, but we were provided with one if we needed anything. I thought that was a nice touch.
When not driving to the other areas of the island, we spent most of our time in Hanalei and at Hanalei beaches. Be sure to double check all locations business days and hours - its surprising how many places are closed on a weekend day, and staffing issues (a global issue) are prevalent in the island as well. If you go with a laid back attitude, then there's no worry even with a hiccup here and there. We were so happy during our stay... would go back in a heartbeat.
If I could drop everything and buy this house, I would in a heartbeat. The pictures don't lie, the home is beautiful and the pool and the views are magical. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked for all of your cooking needs, there's even an air fryer. Washer/Dryer on site as well, which was great to freshen towels or your favorite shorts. There were some pool floaties as well as some snorkling equipt., a boogie board, beach blankets, beach chairs, beach and pool towels. The only thing missing was a cooler. Lots of walking paths nearby and the golf course and you can walk to Hideaway beach (20 mins). This area is a bit private, so do plan to drive most places, but we didn't mind, it was worth it. If I had to nitpick, I'd say the outside could use some power washing, esp. the upstairs deck, but given the rain and sun, I'm not sure if it really matters. <br/>There was also an outside shower near the trash can to rinse all of the things, which was really nice. Best view in Princeville!
Reviewed on 2022-05-02 by Kim M. , Edina, MN United StatesWe absolutely loved our 7 day stay at Kamapua’a Hale! We are a family of 4, including two sons in their 20’s. We took full advantage of the pool area—swam, grilled out, etc. House was just as described. Loved waking up to that beautiful view of the mountains, the waterfalls, to the sound of roosters and birds. Gorgeous!!
