Very familiar with Hali'i Kai, it's a wonderful property! This large unit offered a good value for us this time traveling with adult children. Everything was clean and in good working order once we figured out we had to restart (unplug for a minute) the wifi router in order for it to work with our devices. The condo was nicely stocked with starter supplies and a few extras in the kitchen and laundry room. The beach towels in the unit were quite worn, however, there was a surprisingly generous stash of beach gear including chairs, umbrella(s), boogie boards, sand toys, and snorkeling equipment. Lovely ocean and golf course views from the balconies which exceeded my expectations for building 9. Most furniture comfortable enough excluding the downstairs bedroom mattress which we judged as so terrible as to be unusable during our stay. Only other small negative would be the carpet stains on the stairs which detracts from the unit appearance. Other than those 2 items, we were satisfied, and would recommend the unit as is with reservations about the downstairs mattress.

Great location. Halii Kai is a beautiful place and has a great pool area. The unit we were in was spacious and had nice views. Some minor issues along the way but the host did a nice job addressing these.

I love this place. I've stayed twice. Very clean, perfect location and view. Plenty of basic supplies to start you out. Well equipped with dishes and cooking basics. There are many different activities that you can walk to. Easy access to the Queen's highway if you have a car. The clubhouse is nice, staff friendly and they have delicious fresh fish on the menu daily. weather can be stormy on the island in places while this location is generally very pleasant. Our host was very quick to help out with an awkward unexpected door lock problem. We had a solution in a short time and the lock totally replaced in 24 hours.

Love this rental, especially the number of dishes, bowls, and silverware that are available. Would like to see an upgrade of the router/modem as wi-fi service is not good in the bedrooms. Also think they could buy some new bed pillows.

We have been to Hali'i Kai many times, and and love it. We chose condo 9G because we needed a 3 bdrm unit for this trip, and it has a great location within an easy walk of the ocean-front pool / clubhouse. This unit was clean, comfortable and fitted our needs perfectly. Lots of beach toys, great laundry, great Weber grill, comfortable beds.

There were a few items we were disappointed with, though. When we arrived around 6pm on a very hot day, the temp in the unit was 85 degrees on the 1st floor and the AC was off -- it took a long time to cool down. After a 15 hour flight, standing in long, hot lines at the airport for covid screening, baggage claim, and then the rental car, we would have appreciated walking into a cool condo. It's not as if no one knew we were coming. The kitchen was generally well equipped, but had some disappointing issues. The dishwasher was horribly noisy, and we did not want to run it and stay in the room. The refrigerator was a too small over/under unit and lacked a through-the-door ice/water dispenser. Instead, 2 large Brita-like water filter units sat inside the refrig, and took up a lot of space. The over-the-stove microwave was mounted way too high -- it was fine for anyone over 6 ft tall, but awkward to use for others. Finally, the pull out cupboard unit which would have conveniently held the pots/pans fell apart on our third day, and was not useable thereafter. We fished out the pots/pans we commonly used, and stored them on the countertop instead. This condo deserves better kitchen appliances. A couple of us tried to keep in touch with work, but found the internet access to be rather slow, particularly when the kids were watching TV. There were 3 TVs, and each one was set up differently. We never were able to figure out how to access the Spectrum cable tv service. The only way we could get programming on the kids' bedroom TV was to sign into our own Netflix account. Bottom line: we had a great time, and will retu

Access to the Ocean Club including great food, bar, large pool plus a workout room open air looking over the ocean. We loved the Ocean Club and great people there!

My husband had a conference next door at the Hilton, but since our adult daughters were joining, we opted to find a rental. Took me a minute to get the lay of the land with all the condos in the area, but Halii Kai could not have been more perfect! The complex itself is very nice, well kept with gated entry. There is a very nice pool with a restaurant/bar on the ocean with spectacular views (no beach access however due to lava). Our unit, 9G was even better than expected and true to the photos. 3BR and 3Ba let my girls have their own space. We ate on the pictured patio every morning for breakfast and watched every sunset and caught a few whale sightings with the binoculars they kindly have for just that purpose! The kitchen was well stocked and even had condiments in the pantry. All the nice touches to make cooking easy. The closet is stocked with every possible beach toy/ accessory needed. For us, we appreciated the chairs/ umbrella (me!) and the cooler and the nice plush beach towels. For younger families, lots of beach toys and snorkel gear stocked for fun! The beds were comfy. The master has its own deck with chaise lounges and a huge bathroom and giant closet which let us hang our clothes and stash our luggage. The property manager was very accessible with our questions (like where was the nearest grocery store!) and the concierge service they provide for free with the rental was a very pleasant and appreciated surprise. Having never been to this island, I knew nothing and they helped me choose quality companies for our excursions and ideas of what to do. We snorkeled at Captain Cook monument and took an amazing ATV waterfall tour up north in the Kohala valley. Both were awesome! I highly highly recommend working with them. We were there in late January and the weather could not have been more perfect 70-80 degrees!! Thank you for a great place.

Loved the location, the condo and the appointments. However, learned that VRBO now charges extra on top of what you are paying for the unit. Its deceptive as its in small print and is not included in your 'total'. I would definitely stay at this location again, but will find other sources in order to get to the unit. After deciding to take our two adult children and their spouses to Hawaii for a vacation we spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect location. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of 9G Hali'i Kai. We found it comfortable, spacious, clean, secure, quiet and extremely well stocked with everything we could need. Written instructions on using the TV system would be nice although the younger generation found it easier to figure out.
We spent several evenings eating, playing games and enjoying the beautiful sunsets on the lower deck. The upper deck has two wonderful loungers and an even nicer view. The beach club was a few minute walk away and was enjoyed by all..a great place to spend time even though the pools are shallow (max 4'). The hot tub is pleasantly warm. The gym with a view was a big hit as was the restaurant (prime rib sliders, prawns, green beans,nachos, fish tacos -all of it really, really good). Drinks were reasonably priced at happy hour (2:00-5:30) for being a resort. It was all very clean with a good choice of seating/lounging options. A special shout to Cathy who really is as good as her reputation. We also found Christal at the guest centre very friendly and helpful even though we had rented privately.
There is one dedicated parking space with the unit however if you have two cars you can get free addtl parking passes for guest parking spots which are scattered around the complex - two right at unit 9.
A car is required if you want to shop or visit the beaches however the 10-15 minute walk along the ocean to the Hilton is pleasant and quite easy.
We were staying at a quieter time of year and I understand it gets quite a bit busier.

The beach club was a few minute walk away and was enjoyed by all..a great place to spend time even though the pools are shallow (max 4'). The hot tub is pleasantly warm. The gym with a view was a big hit as was the restaurant (prime rib sliders, prawns, green beans,nachos, fish tacos -all of it really, really good). Drinks were reasonably priced at happy hour (2:00-5:30) for being a resort. It was all very clean with a good choice of seating/lounging options. A special shout to Cathy who really is as good as her reputation. We also found Christal at the guest centre very friendly and helpful even though we had rented privately. <br/> There is one dedicated parking space with the unit however if you have two cars you can get free addtl parking passes for guest parking spots which are scattered around the complex - two right at unit 9.<br/>A car is required if you want to shop or visit the beaches however the 10-15 minute walk along the ocean to the Hilton is pleasant and quite easy. <br/>We were staying at a quieter time of year and I understand it gets quite a bit busier.

We think the unit is in a prime location and we love Hali'i Kai. We do have some concerns regarding the unit that we did bring forward to the property manager and they were really not addressed during our stay.

The kitchen was well equipped and we ate most of our meals in the condo. The beds were very comfortable and the complex was quiet and peaceful allowing for great sleep. My husband and I spent lots of time relaxing on the master bedroom balcony overlooking the golf course and ocean-wonderful view! The only suggestion I have to make this property even better is for the owner to provide some beach gear like boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs, etc. (Beach towels were provided)
