This condo is NOT BRAND NEW! Very dated with worn out furniture and stained carpets throughout . Every vent from bathrooms to windows were caked with dust/dirt/grime. When first entering it seemed fine. Once opening things up the lack of upkeep was very evident. I've taken pictures of all this but don't know where I can send them.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this property needs attention. Some of the issues reported were taken off during our stay. However, there are other items still needing to be addressed.

This property had a horrible infestation of sugar ants. Multiple black ants traps were left on the kitchen counter making the kitchen unsafe for food due to the chemicals. Cockroaches were also present. We have stayed at Papakea for the past 15 years and have never encountered bugs in the units we have rented. Carpets in the bedrooms need to be replaced or cleaned...they were stained and filthy. The only thing good about this condo was the view, it was amazing!

Candice even suggested the placing of flower leis and flower petals in the ocean during our whale watching excursion as a way of remembering a loved ones who passed (my wife Jane/other traveler's husband Carlos). It was moving and memorable. Other members on the voyage were also impressed and moved by the idea.
Unit does need some upgrading in areas of carpet, trim falling from wall, screen door doesn't close/latch, trim peeling away from drawers/cabinets and missing wall panel in bedroom laying against mirror on floor.

The location was amazing. Looking out over the ocean we saw dozens of humpback whales. Occasionally a sea turtle would swim by searching for food. We were fortunate to see a monk seal and a few sea otters. I was more than happy with the location.

We stayed in A403, it’s a lovely place with a great view and beautiful area. Upon arrival though, we were told the place was clean, but the kitchen floors were dirty and some of the walls were too. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time there.

The property was amazing with location, cleanliness, view of the ocean. It had everything we needed and we loved the stay so much, we will be returning in a few years.

Our rental was right above the beach where my family swam many times a day. We could watch them from our outdoor patio. The view was incredible and the property was beautiful. The only issue we had is that for what the cleaning fee was it could have been cleaner and we did not have many of the basic items one would normally expect. No paper towels, no sponge, 4 rolls of toilet paper for 7 people, no laundry soap, no bathroom soap and only 2 garbage bags and a very small garbage can. There were some interior maintenance issues as well. There was no garbage disposal though there was one not hooked up under the kitchen sink. I know your arrival instructions said there would only be a starter supply of paper products and soap but I feel we didn't even get that. And there were extra pillows in the closets but they were unusable as none of them had pillowcases. That being said I would stay at the resort again and even in that rental if some of the supply and maintenance issues were taken care of. We had an amazing time.

The condo is very nice and updated which can accommodate 8 people. The view from the balcony is incredible looking straight out to the ocean looking at the islands of Molakai and Lanai. Sunsets are great right from the balcony. You can go out in the ocean in front of the rock wall during low tide and there is a sandy beach on either side of the resort. There is one AC in the living room so fans are used to help circulate the air. Keep the balcony shades closed to help keep the sun out to keep the condo cooler. I would definitely recommend this condo.

The home was in the most perfect location and had everything stocked that we could possibly need. Our contact was extremely prompt getting back to us if we had a question. We will definitely plan our next visit around this unit’s availability.

We had a wonderful vacation and the was the perfect accommodation!! The view could not have been any better!! I would absolutely come back again!

The location was great, the view was amazing, everyone was good to deal with. Had a problem with the plumbing the last four days which made things very disruptive. Without the plumbing issue (probably not a regular thing) it was a great visit. Second time at Papakea and would go again.

I was very unhappy when I realized I couldn’t rent again in Dec 2023. (In previous years the property was not available to rent until about 11 months before)

first day- door fell off dresser,toilet backed up,mirror doors would not open, place was a little dirty( only surface cleaning was done)
no lights working in the loft( all light blubs were burned out)after 2 days we noticed that the A/C was not working to good-we find that the A/C was dirty filter was clogged So Disgusting. also both bathroom fans were the same way(just no filter needed in those fans.
On a Good note when we call to get these items fixed. They did a Great job fixing them.
We did have mid weeks cleaning done - That went Great-New bed sheets, New Beach Towels for the whole place.

Papakea and this particular vacation rental were perfect. Plenty of space for my family of six. Great, well stocked kitchen. Beautiful view. Not nearly as crowded as some resorts can get. Felt like a quiet, private oasis for my family.

We had a wonderful stay at Papakea resort unit A403. Most gorgeous view of the sunsets and ocean and all we could ask for. Clean, plenty of beach and bath towels for 8.
Beds were comfortable and everything we needed in the kitchen.
The only negative would be the condition of the carpets in the bedrooms.
I would recommend replacing the carpet with tiles in order to maintain the look of the condo. Carpets are stained and used looking.
Otherwise, everything else was perfect.

We enjoyed Papakea but would not stay in this unit again. The carpets are filthy and didn't make me want to walk on them in bare feet. Kitchen appliances are needing to be upgraded. Bi-fold doors to washer and dryer don't open far enough to get the dryer door closed, Master shower head leaks and is pulling away from the wall, tile is cracked. The stairs to the loft area are steep and aren't safe for kids. I needed an iron and ironing board and was told there was not one in the unit, there was but the ironing board needs to be replaced. There were beach chairs, but the umbrella was broken. The view was amazing, and the location of Papakea was great.

The carpet and furniture in A403 were very dirty and outdated. The unit was well equipped with a few minor utensils missing. It is Ocean front but this did not make up for the disappointment of the filth.

Furnashings outdated, exposed wiring, disgusting dirty bedroom carpets, and cookware was a horrible miss mash of small wear. The service desk and concierge were very busy and didn't go out of their way to provide friendly service -- we will not be returning!!!

We really like the unit and the location, but checking in the unit was really not clean. The floor was dusty, the countertops had food stains, the stove top had stains, and the refrigerator really smelled bad. We spent a good 2 hrs wiping everything down. After that we had a great stay, but just wish cleaning was better.
