Waikoloa Village is located on the west side of the Big Island along the Kohala Coast and is generally considered more of a resort than a town. Set at 440 feet above sea level in the sunny and dry area of the island, Waikoloa enjoys scenic ocean and mountain views making it an ideal resort location. On a clear day the island of Maui can be seen across the channel.
Waikoloa Village has many attractions such as golf courses and great beaches including the popular Anaehoomalu Beach. There are many shops and businesses in Waikoloa including plenty of dining options, live entertainment in the evenings, and spa services. Resorts in Waikoloa include the Hilton Waikoloa Village.
Three golf courses in the area include the Waikoloa Village Golf Course, Waikoloa Beach Golf Course and the King’s Golf Course at Waikoloa. A Waikoloa Village Farmers Market takes place every Saturday at 7 am at the Waikoloa Community Church.
Waikoloa Village is home to about 6,000 people and encompasses 19.1 square miles (49.6 sq. km) surrounded by Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hualalai volcanoes. Waikoloa is located 24 miles north of the Kona International Airport.
