Known as a fun beach for the entire family, Spencer Beach Park offers lots of sunshine, is one of the best beaches for camping (permit required), and has a protective offshore reef that provides safe swimming almost all year around. Due to its calm ocean conditions and offshore reef, it is a recommended place to snorkel and look for sea life. Hawaiian sea turtles are often seen lounging in the sand and swimming around in the shallows.
Spencer Beach Park also offers great amenities, including barbecue grills, covered pavilions, showers, volleyball and basketball courts, and more. You can also take a short walk from the beach to the Puukohola and Mailekine heiaus, which are located at the Puukohola Heiau National Historic Site. With all this beach has to offer, be sure to keep it in mind the next time you’re looking for a fun place to take the family to, or simply a great place to pitch the tent for the weekend.
