Major sporting events, concerts, conventions and other functions are held at Honolulu’s Neal Blaisdell Center. From Broadway shows to rock concerts to gymnastics competitions, the Blaisdell Center is a versatile venue with a variety of seating configurations that accommodate many different events.
In recent years the Blaisdell Center has hosted performers including Elton John, Celine Dion and Ricky Martin, sporting events from college basketball and volleyball to martial arts exhibitions and international gymnastic competitions, and even the Disney show Ice and Sesame Street.
Numerous Broadway productions have been staged at the Blaisdell Center including Les Miserable, Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Cats, Rent, and Miss Saigon. The site has also served as a Concert Hall for the Hawaii Opera Theater and the Honolulu Symphony.
The Center’s Galleria area is the formal entrance which leads to the Exhibition Hall. The Galleria’s high-vaulted glass enclosure creates a dramatic entrance, and its upper level is reached by a glass elevator and formal grand staircase. The panoramic view of Honolulu makes this a popular site for cocktail parties as well as weddings and receptions.
The Blaisdell Center’s Exhibition Hall can provides up to 85,000 square feet of space for consumer shows, community trade shows and fundraising events or parties.
Other areas of the Blaisdell Center provide meeting rooms, theater space and a variety of spaces for different events from seminars and business luncheons to formal dinners and large parties.
The concourses at the Blaisdell Center offer full food and beverage stands as well as novelties concession stands.
