Step inside through the front door and be immediately impressed by the abundance of natural light from a wall of sliding glass doors and floor to ceiling windows. A comfortable living area offers cushy couches and chairs nestled around a large TV and decorative fireplace. A light and soft color pallet with touches of island decor elicits the beachy vacation vibes you are looking for! An appointed dining area offers a table and chairs for eight and a unique hanging light fixture. Multiple ceiling fans are a wonderful addition and serve to move Kauai’s cooling tradewinds throughout the space, the island’s natural air conditioning.

Take a few steps to the fully-appointed kitchen, ideal for the chef of your group! Intentional additions like a six panel skylight and garden-view window allow the sun to shine through all day long. A generous amount of counter space makes cooking a joy in this kitchen and the space includes a large kitchen island, ample cabinet space, walk-in pantry, side-by-side refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, two sinks, and all of your cooking equipment. Just across from the kitchen, step outside to a tiled backyard patio area equipped with barbeque, sink, and counter space, ideal for an afternoon of grilling at home! A wall of tropical trees, foliage, and flowers provide privacy from the neighbors. On the first floor you will also find a guest bathroom, laundry room with washer, dryer, and sink.

The king size bed master bedroom with ensuite is located on the first floor and the other three bedrooms are on the second floor. First bedroom on the second floor includes a comfy king size bed, second bedroom sleeps a queen bed and then the kids can enjoy twin bunks and an additional twin bed beds in the third bedroom. All of the bedrooms provide comfortable furnishings, ceiling fans, closet space, and awesome amounts of natural light. A cozy, covered lanai on the second-floor offers mountain views and lounge seating, a great place for a morning coffee! Guests will also have access to a covered parking garage with a few fun and functional beach items including beach coolers, surfboards, boogie boards, beach-cruiser bikes, and beach towels. What we loved: The spaciousness of the home, lots of parking for 4 cars, great lighting, and air circulation. The backyard / grassy area was lovely for sitting outside together. We used the BBQ to grill veggies one night. The kitchen was well-appointed, and it was great to have two refrigerators. The dining table and the living room were comfortable enough for the seven of us. The area where the home is located is close enough to walk to the beaches.

What could be better? When we arrived, the floors were still dirty, so our feet were black. We bought a floor mop and wet wipes to clean them ourselves. We also picked up new bathmats from Costco because the ones provided were so basic and slipped around. Additionally, the brown bathroom towels in the downstairs master bedroom were very musty-smelling after just one use. I would recommend they get thrown out and replaced. Finally, we still had to get in the car to Foodland, as the walk was farther than we thought.

All in all, we had a wonderful two weeks. We did not feel the mid-term cleaning was necessary, as we are a very tidy group. The housekeeping charges were astronomical based on what we received, and I'm sorry to say that was the most disappointing part! It felt like a waste of our money.

We had one need for a simple repair to a sink plunger upstairs. The response was quick, but we would have liked to have known, timing-wise, before the maintenance person came.

The communication with the rental company was very good and efficient. We even received reminders for trash pick-up.

Our favorite beach was Pu'u Poa in front of the 1 Hotel. Hanalei Bay is always the best for sunset! We also enjoyed walking around the area in the mornings. It is peaceful, and the neighborhood (and neighbors) are all very nice.

We will likely choose a different home in Princeville next time the family gathers.

Good location in Princeville. We spent most of our time at nearby Anini and Hanalei beaches with occasional day trips to places like Tunnels beach and more. The house was clean and worked well for all three generations of our family, including a cool house at night thanks to the trade winds. Would certainly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in North Shore Kauai.

We had plenty of room to relax and spread out. There were 5 adults and two small children in our party. The house was super well equipped with all the beach stuff you could need. The wagon helped us walk to Puu Poa beach, and the bikes were great for going to Hideaways beach. Without AC the upstairs bedrooms were pretty hot during the day and the floor fans in those bedrooms were pretty old and noisy, but that was not a big problem. We would definitely stay there again.
