Located on the southwestern tip of Oahu, the town of Ewa Beach is about 10 miles (16 km) west of downtown Honolulu. The town is less than two square miles in size and home to about 15,000 people.
On Oahu’s south shore many people give directions referring either to Ewa or Diamond Head for west and east. For example they might say go two blocks Ewa meaning go two blocks west (toward Ewa Beach). North and south are usually referred to as mauka (toward the mountains) and makai (seaward).
Ewa Beach is located between Pearl Harbor and Kapolei, with Waipahu to the north.
