A small town on Oahu’s western (leeward) coast, Waianae is home to about 10,000 people. The town is best known for its boat harbor where boats depart for sightseeing, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and humpback whale watching tours.

The town of has a few shops and restaurants where you can grab some supplies and get something to eat. Waianae also has a library, some elementary and intermediate schools, and Waianae High School.

Nearby to Waianae is the popular Makaha Beach where some of the world’s best surfers ride the waves. You can also drive to Oahu’s westernmost spot at Kaena Point.
