Hawai'i Life Vacations Standards

General Information
Fully furnished, with comfortable furniture in good condition and tasteful décor.
Walls, floors, floor coverings, fixtures, décor, furnishings, appliances are free of damage and stains.
No clutter and personal items such as family photos.
All lighting functional, with spare light bulbs handy.
Home is well ventilated with no musty smells.
No pest or rodent issues in home and no pest traps visible during guest stays.
Fireplaces, if any, are neat and clean.
Cold/hot water consistently available.
Keys, Checkout, Home Info
The ability to leave keys in the home upon guest checkout. This means a self-locking door, key lock box, or a secure mail slot through which guest can slip their keys.
Minimum two sets of keys for guest parties of two or more.
- A welcome binder in each home that includes information on WiFi and contact information for day-today needs and emergencies. Hawaii Life will provide this all Exclusive listings.
Cleaning Items
Washer and dryer in the home.
Sufficient household items for guests, including extra garbage bags, dish cloths, dish detergent, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, paper towels, extra toilet paper.
Air Conditioning and Heating
Air conditioning available in bedrooms at a minimum in warm weather locations (seasonal or year-round).
Heat available throughout home in cold weather locations (seasonal or year-round).
- Any ceiling fans available are functional and quiet.
Wifi
Basic Wifi is essential in all homes and it is advisable to upgrade internet speed whenever possible. If you're not sure which internet speed option to choose, the experts at HighSpeedInternet.com explain - the minimum speed for video conferencing is 1 Mbps, but depending on who you're sharing the connection with, opting for something a little higher like 3 Mbps is advisable. The FCC classifies anything above 25 Mbps as high-speed internet, but ISPs offer speeds ranging up to 1,000 Mbps or more.
Outdoor Areas
Any lawns, gardens, patios, terraces, balconies, driveways are well maintained (swept, not overgrown).
Any pools, hot tubs, barbecues, heat lamps are clean and functional.
Any pool heaters available function to heat pool to roughly 28ºc/80ºf.
Extra propane tanks and/or charcoal if barbecue grill present.
Any outdoor furniture is clean and in good condition.
If private pool is available, at least one pool towel per guest per week, and poolside lounge chairs provided.
Gas BBQ (no charcoal).
Quality beach chairs 1/2 number per max occupancy.

Kitchens
Refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven in working and easy-to operate condition.
Coffee maker with extra filters if applicable.
Pots, pans, cooking utensils, matching flatware, matching dishes, matching glassware including wine glasses and Champagne flutes all in adequate amount and good condition for your maximum number of guests to prepare, cook, and serve a meal.
No stains on appliances, inside refrigerators, or surfaces generally.
Salt and pepper, cooking oil, and spice set.
Extra plates and bowls (one extra place setting per guest).
Bakeware
- Plastic drinkware for homes with pools for use poolside.
Dining Areas
- Enough seating for maximum guest count.
Living Rooms
- Flat screen television with basic channels either in a living room, den, sitting room, or entertainment/ game room.
Comfortable seating arrangement to accommodate all guests.
Cable television and/or premium channels.
Stereo or music system.
Bedrooms
Flat screen television with basic channels either in a living room, den, sitting room, or entertainment/ game room.
Comfortable seating arrangement to accommodate all guests.

Bathrooms
No severe staining of any sort on any surface, this includes in between tiles, on shower curtains, along bathtub line, on walls.
High end toiletries for guests, including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion and soap.
Hotel-quality towels, including bath towels, hand towels and washcloths, in sufficient quantities (minimum two of each per guest per week).
Toilet brush in each bathroom.
One hair dryer in each full bath.
Plunger in each home.
- Windows have opaque curtains, blinds, shutters or other equivalent covering.
Safety
Working smoke detectors.
Fire extinguisher in each home.
Wall or closet safe.
Functioning alarm if any.
Recommended Extras
Air conditioning even if home is in a traditionally cool-weather location.

iPod dock (or something similar) in each room.
Hotel quality linens free of stains: no bedspreads or throw pillows (everything needs to be washable).
