The Luxury Zen Retreat was even better than advertised. We have stayed in many vacation homes. This ,by far, was the most well equipped home that we have ever stayed in. The kitchen was fantastic. It had everything. All high quality. If your looking for a fantastic place to stay just outside Hanalei, I highly recommend the Luxury Zen Retreat.

The house is great. If anything I wish we were able to spend more time in it! But when we did, it was very accommodating. Plenty of private spaces, and when we wanted to get together and/or host a meal with friends, it was perfect. We walked down the ridge along the old Club Med property and swam across the river to walk the Bay... overall the location was really perfect.

This home is everything! The location, the views, the layout, it was a dream! We stayed with our two young kids and they loved it as well. Beds are so comfy. Linens/towels are high quality. Bathtubs were spacious and the view from the master unmatched! The outdoor shower has a Bali feel. The pool is a great size and the fountain so relaxing! We kept saying it feels like we are staying in a treehouse - because the home is so private - surrounded by plants - and built over the edge of a canyon - so when you look down towards the ocean it’s like you are one with the trees. We’ve stayed at other homes on the same street - and this one has the best views! The only improvements would have been higher quality soaps throughout - but we are fancy like that. And we only found beach chairs/umbrellas/cooler - we didn’t find any boogie boards/snorkel/other beach gear which would have been a bonus. We may have overlooked it! We would love to stay again and highly recommend this rental!!

This is a lovely house with lots of great amenities. The views from the deck and from the south-facing windows are excellent. It is a short drive to Princeville and Hanalei. Great little food-truck serving breakfast and lunch is a block away. We visit Kauai frequently, and this was probably the best vacation property at which we have stayed.

My wife and I spent a week at Hanalei Zen Retreat in early October and had a wonderful time. Despite being very close to one other house, it is situated in such a way that it is an incredibly private retreat. There was quite a bit of construction going on down the street, but it did not disturb us in the least due to the property layout. The house itself is incredible with a great view of the ocean in the distance, a beautiful pool, and a deck/lanai. The view from the upstairs bedroom is wonderful.

Location is great, less than a five minute drive to the commercial center and grocery store, 10 minutes to Hanelei Beach and Blue Dolphin Fish Market (great fresh fish), and a 15 minute walk to the ocean if you are a surfer.

The air conditioning in the bedroom works nicely, and the downstairs stayed cool and comfortable with the (screened) doors open and the ceiling fans on.

This is a quality-built house with nice interior finish and real wood floors - it looks like cherry wood floors, which is a soft wood and requires extra care - like no shoes and be careful not to drop anything heavy. While this makes the house a wonderful place to stay, it is NOT a party house - and I don't think i would be comfortable bringing young kids to this house unless they were already accustomed to needing to be careful and not throwing things around inside of the house - this wonderful house deserves a lot of respect and care.

I highly recommend this house and hope to return in the not-to-distant future.

This gorgeous house was perfect in every way. The location could not have been better. The house was very clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms spa quality. The views of Hanalei Bay were unreal, especially at sunset. Short walk to Pua Poa beach, less than 5 minutes to Princeville Center and about 7-8 minutes to Hanalei town. We used the beach chairs, mats, and cooler for a day trip to Anini Beach. I wish we could have stayed longer!
