We were very happy with this studio apartment! It literally had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was a very nice space with full size fridge & updated appliances. Very clean & the bed & bedding were very nice. They provide beach chairs & a cooler for the beach & easy beach access. The property was great especially having Dukes restaurant on property. Easy check in & out. We will definitely stay here again!

We loved our beautiful condo at Honua Kai! The condo was very clean, modern, stunning view, loved breakfast on the Lanai, very peaceful, well stocked. With the beautiful beach, coffee shop in the lobby & Dukes restaurant all right there on the location we spent most our days at the resort. This was our 3rd time staying at Honua Kai. We love the resort! Unit 833 was the best unit we've stayed in so far. It was clean, nicely furnished and has a beautiful view of the resort and ocean. There was no need to contact the owners for anything, yet they were readily available. Great place; great hosts!

We really enjoyed our trip and the property. The room was lovely and had a great view. Loved having my coffee on the patio in the mornings. Will definitly stay at this resort again. The unit was very clean and well decorated.

The rental was amazing, had everything you would need from washer/dryer, dishes, pots/pans, beach chairs, etc. The pools were great, lots of options to either be kid friendly or adult pool, gym was awesome! Parking was in the same elevator which is a huge plus. Highly recommend.

Perfect vacation and perfect rental! Customer service at the resort and property manager were very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless and very comfortable. The views are awesome from the room. My wife and I rented this unit on a recent week long trip to Maui. It was our first time on the island. From the time we stepped into the room to the day we left, we were impressed with the unit. It was well appointed. Pictures were true to current state and the view from the lanai was spectacular. Saw whales every day, so much so, it almost became routine. The Honua Kai resort is also a very nice facility. They seemed a bit unready for the amount of people that were there in terms of available pool chairs and restaurant staff, but I blame Covid for that mostly. In terms of the unit, we would definitely stay again. We had a little communication hiccup on arrival with the host, but the resort resolved it in a timely fashion. The location is on a wonderful boardwalk and is central to a lot of options, so I would highly recommend.

This was a great condo! Clean, well stocked, and everything worked. Management team was responsive. The best part was the view! We mush have seen 50 whales a day from the lanai including a handful of close by breaches. Life is good.

This condo is good but could easily be great with some love from the owners.
The good: AMAZING views, location in condo building, full kitchen, washer and dryer
Needs repairs:
The bathroom tub - the front panel was coming off, the seal on the shower door is hanging in shower, the toilet paper holder is hanging on by a thread and the sink is missing the drain plug.
The mattress needs to be replaced - it dips on both sides from use.
The patio furniture - the table has a large hole and the side table the glass is broken.
The carpet has stains. Other units have laminate flooring which makes sense with sand and ease of cleaning.
The bedside lamps - the light is not connected to the base so if you close the drawer the light wants to fall over.
Only 2 mugs provided in the kitchen and they are chipped. We bought Tupperware and left for future guests.
Also there is NO storage for your luggage. The closet is filled with chairs and other items.

To recap- I LOVED the views and location. I sat on the patio every morning and REALLY enjoyed that but for the price- I would suggest fixing these things. This place could be a 20/10 rating if you put some love into it.
I am writing this because I rely on reviews and would have appreciated seeing this before we went.

Sincerely appreciated the K-Cup coffee maker because we drink different kinds of coffee. Kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials for cooking and baking our meals. Grabbed the beach towels and chairs out of the closet for great snorkeling adventures within steps of the condo. Viewing beautiful Rainbows and Sunsets from the lanai were an added bonus

My wife and I had an amazing vacation in Maui. The apartment complex is great and has very nice amenities. The condo/studio is very nicely furnished and has all the necessary accessories to have a great time for an island escape vacation. We very much enjoyed the outdoor/indoor living space with it's great views of the ocean, sunset and cool breezes.

We just got back from a fantastic week on Maui staying at #833 in the Hokulani building at the Honua Kai. What a beautiful studio in a very comfortable resort. Everything was handled very professionally by the owner, from our welcome, our request for an additional blanket, to our request for an extended check-out - thank you Megan! We wanted to expose our two teenagers to warm water snorkeling and it was perfect. One of our favorite spots was directly out front of the resort - lots of fish, eels, turtles, and even a small shark. The studio itself was small but very well equipped, and immaculate. It's a good sized resort but apparently well insulated since we never heard a thing at night, which was great for sleeping. We especially liked the rubber bracelet keys which are pretty much impossible to misplace. All-in-all it was a great week and we would recommend this studio to anyone without hesitation.

We had a great stay for our honeymoon! The room was fantastic, exactly what we needed. A perfect place for us to recharge before heading out on our next adventure. The view was beautiful and we enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets every day. Being so close to the pool and Dukes was awesome. Overall 10/10. Maybe we will return for an anniversary trip in the future!

This was the perfect get-away for us this year. The property is very well maintained and the unit had all of the amenities we needed. You can leave your beach towels, chairs, etc. at home because they supply you with everything you need. We will definitely stay here again. Mahalo!

Getting a much needed break from everything we set out to find a place that would be quiet yet fun. We found it. The room was perfect.. nicely decorated and super clean. Waking to the view of the ocean and even getting to see a sunset and moonset on the same night! Can't wait to go back!

Location is wonderful, property clean with everything on site - cofee shop, restaurant, spa, fitness, swimming pools, great customer service. We used coffee shop with excellent coffee and Dukes restaurant with a great drinks and food. Would recommend this property. Staff helpful, we needed suggestions for the emergency and we had one tour cancellation - was resolved immediately.

We have been to the west side of Maui seven times and have stayed at the Sheraton each time. When we found the Honua Kai was available we did our research and fell in love with everything we saw from the amenities to the lovely Duke's restaurant at our doorstep. The room was perfect and perfectly located with a wonderful view of Lania and the straight. My only regret, and I mean the only regret I had, was that we did not bring our 6 grand children with us. They would have loved the pool and beach with so many grandchildren there to play with. We will be back in January of 2019 for sure and will try to stay in the same room if available. Thanks to all who made our trip the best of the seven times we have visited. Mahalo!

The room was perfect for us grandparents. Evenings on the deck with a glass of wine and fine music. There is a Bose Bluetooth speaker that make it nice. Ladies, be aware that the vanity in the bathroom is small not much room for toiletries. I always travel with an over the door clear shoe holder for times like this. We usually don’t travel to Maui but this was to spend time with family and it was very nice as far as location. Happy Hour at Duke’s was fun.

My wife and I stayed at the property for almost two weeks. Had a wonderful time. The property was clean and well taken care of. The owner and the staff at the property were friendly and willing to help with whatever we needed. Wish there was a closet available to hang clothes in, as the only one is occupied with beach towels/chairs/vacuum/etc. Otherwise, a really fabulous place!

This was our 3rd stay in HK 833 and it won’t be our last. The unit is so comfortable, with great amenities a great lanai and superb ocean views. Yes you can see whale after whale right from the lanai and the sunsets are outstanding. Great hosts in Jeremy and Megan Stice. Megan was available to answer any questions and meet any needs.

All the other positive reviews are spot on. If you haven’t stayed in this unit, rest assured you will not regret booking it. The pictures do represent it accurately.

We loved the location of this property. We also thought it was in great condition and loved the view. The coffee shop is very good. Check in and check out was easy. The unit was very very quiet; we couldn't hear anyone unless they were outside. The only complaint is that the bathroom is way too dark to do makeup and using the mirror in the hall wasn't a great place for toiletries.
