Description

Niulani Lanikai, a Kapa’a beachfront vacation rental with the flexibility to entertain up to 10 guests in three distinct on-site properties. The custom oceanfront home is built in true Hawaiian style.

Niulani Lanikai offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and is located in the popular Kauai town of Kapa’a. You’ll find yourself just steps away from the Kauai Village Shopping Center, pristine beaches, cool and funky boutiques, the incredible restaurants of Kapa’a and many of Kauai’s most popular attractions.

At this central location, you’re just a five-minute drive from Lydgate State Beach Park, Fern Grotto, Kamalani Playground and Wailua Golf Course. For those who enjoy an active experience, rent a kayak and paddle up the Wailua River to see not just the breathtaking scenery, but one of Kauai’s famous hidden waterfalls!

If you’d like to stick closer to home, simply walk outside your door and take a stroll on the walk/bike path, as you listen to the waves crash and marvel at the clear aquamarine water.

The main home of this unique Kapa’a property boasts two bedrooms, an open loft and 2 full baths. In traditional Balinese style, you’ll find lofted post-and-beam style ceilings, creating plenty of air flow throughout the great room. This area is richly decorated in island decor and offers living room, oceanfront dining and a spacious and fully equipped kitchen.

Walk out on the deck to enjoy a meal al fresco at the dining table, prepared with a custom BBQ grill.

The master bedroom is equipped with a king size bed on the oceanfront side with sliding glass doors that leads out to the ocean side lanai and private marble lined bath/shower. The 2nd bedroom has a queen-size bed. A loft bedroom over the living area offers a full-size bed.

The Surf Shack is a charming detached cottage with one bedroom (Queen bed), one bath home with a cozy living area with flat screen TV, refrigerator, sink & dishwasher. It also boasts a front porch and small lanai off the main bedroom.

The Mermaid Lounge is a separate living area, above the garage, it's 1-bedroom (Queen bed), 1-bath property with vaulted ceilings with the comfortably furnished living area, flat screen TV and a countertop refrigerator. Ocean views from the front lanai.

This property is perfect for any size party, from a romantic getaway for two to a family vacation.

We had a family group of 8 ranging in age from 7 to 82 and the house was perfect for us. Everyone had their own space to retreat to and the living/dining/kitchen space was a wonderful space to congregate.
Being right on the ocean, there was always a nice ocean breeze coming through the screen doors and windows. Lying on the master bed you not only were bathed in breezes but had a view of the ocean and
the gorgeous sunrises all while listening to the white noise of waves lapping the shore. Shopping, dining and beaches are all within walking distance without having to walk much on the main road. The West Coast and Waimea Canyon and North Coast with Hanalei are only an 45-60 minute drive away. We are a family of cooks and we appreciated the well equipped kitchen although the stove knobs were all worn so you didn’t know what setting they were on. The kids loved all the beach toys/equipment and the adults the beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear and abundant beach towels. The only complaint from the adults in the group was that the mattresses were too hard but that’s a personal preference. The home was a marvelous spot that we would definitely rent again.

It was something like paradise at Kapaa as 3 families came together to celebrate the Matriarch on her 80th. She wanted tropical and she got it! Kapaa Beach House gave us the space to be together but take time away from the group. Everything worked out well! We loved it!

I had six people in my party and this location was perfect! We had 3 people in the main house, one in the upstairs apartment and 2 more in the detached Ohana. Very clean, everything we needed was available in the kitchen, plenty of towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear and washer and dryer. Sunrise was amazing, incredible views, outstanding location! I highly recommend this location; I will be back for sure.

We chose this house because of it’s location. You are centrally located to just about everything on the island and its walking distance to Kapaa town. With the bike path right outside the door, it’s an easy 10 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants. From the moment we pulled up in the driveway, we knew this place was going to be special. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the house itself is very nice. The house is very well stocked. The kitchen has everything you can think of, bathrooms were fully loaded with towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap. Also, in the main living room you can find plenty of games for those nights of just hanging out. If I had to complain about anything though, I would have to say that the lighting in the kitchen at night isn’t great. Also, the stove is electric and the knobs are so worn out you can’t tell which way is high or low. Other than that, everything works just fine. In the laundry room, you can find plenty of beach chairs, beach towels, water shoes, umbrellas, cooler, fishing poles, water toys for the littles and even a couple of small life jackets. We had 6 adults in our party and everyone had their own space. With the main house having 2 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, the Ohana and the apartment over the garage it gave all of us our own little getaways. We didn’t use the loft. I do have to warn whoever sleeps in the primary bedroom though, I hope you like waking up at sunrise everyday.. lol. Because there are no blackout curtains, just sheer ones. So, it’s very bright in the morning. Hearing the waves and taking in the view everyday though, out weighed the brightness. The house doesn’t have AC, but with so many windows and ceiling fans we didn’t need it. The backyard is amazing! Stepping out onto the deck and taking in the scenery was spectacular. We recently had the pleasure of staying at Niulani Lanikai with our family of 5. The house is very spacious and sits directly on the ocean. With 3 college age children there was plenty of room for us to spread out, yet the main living / kitchen area was a lovely gathering space for us at night. The outdoor space is gorgeous, we utilized the deck for our Thanksgiving dinner. We had coffee in the morning for sunrise which was amazing. The house was well appointed with everything we needed including beach gear, which was a nice surprise. For our family the location was perfect as we had tours on both the northern and southern parts of the island throughout the week. It was less than an hour drive from everything we did. We also took advantage of paved trail along the ocean that is directly behind the house. It was beautiful for running / walking. Hedi our property manager was lovely, she was very easy to contact and responded to us immediately. I would highly recommend this property, and hope we get the chance to return!

We had 9 people gather for Thanksgiving. The home is everything listed in the write-up. It is well stocked and clean and the location right on the beach is terrific. The snorkeling and beach equipment is great and the cleaner and manager are extremely responsive. The only negative is the traffic on Highway 50 with construction, but that will be true for anything along the eastern coats of Kauai.

Highly recommend this beautiful vacation home for anyone considering Kapaa. Such a special property right on the water with amazing breezes. We could have never left but it’s so conveniently located to stores, shops and restaurants that you can’t pass up. We took advantage of the spacious kitchen and bbq, not to mention the view that beats any restaurant that we cooked in mos5 nights. Was comfortable and well appointed. Would come back here every time we plan to visit the islands.

We had an amazing time on the Kauai and this property was in a perfect location to see all parts of the island. It was 5-minutes form groceries, and also ten steps from the ocean. We had four couples and loved that we all had our own private bedroom and bathroom. The suite above the garage and little separate cottage are perfect for people to have their own time if needed. The open floor plan on main house with kitchen, living room, and dining room were perfect for us to all be together comfortably. The kitchen has anything you could need to cook full meals. The deck out back was awesome overlooking ocean as well. The only downside of the property itself was every room had incredibility hard mattresses. I did see this in another review so was prepared, but not prepared enough. I will chalk this up to personal preference and not let it take away from the property. And the extra chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, yard games was very nice touch. Now, to the management company: I would suggest better cleaning as everything was dusty and floor and ceiling fans threw globs of dusty all over when we turned them on. The suite above the garage smelled of musty odor from being closed up maybe?? and another odor we couldn't figure out until we followed the ants. We had to clean up something that had been spilled. Once we did this and air it out it was fine. Two screens in the main home and the slider screen in the garage suite were ripped out completely. No one showed up for about 4 days so we fixed the two in the main house and when someone finally showed up they fixed the one above the garage suite. The grill was filthy and broken. This did get remedied quickly though - thank you. Overall, this is a great property, and I would rent it again.

This house is absolutely beautiful! It's centrally located and the beach is just out your backdoor. The part that we didn't like, was that the beds are HARD! My husband and I are side sleepers and we were forced to sleep on our stomachs or backs and tossed and turned every night. Other than that we couldn't have asked for a better rental.

Niulani Lanikai was the perfect spot for our 20th wedding anniversary! Steps from a perfect, shaded little beach area that we didn't have to load up, drive to, and fight for parking, we spent most of our time right there on the property during the day and enjoyed the breeze and moonlight on the water from the lanai in the evening. The kitchen is well stocked, but being within walking distance to so many great restaurants in Kapa'a, we didn't eat in much. We'd never stayed in Kapa'a before, but getting a feel for how accessible it makes both the north and south shores, we'll be back!

Great house in a great location.
Pricila was wonderful to work with
couple of recommendations.......new dishwasher in main house is needed. bathroom with the skylights needs to be blocked up or able to is a green house in there during the daytime and takes awhile to cool off. Could not get the cottage house to lock up. Anything you all can do about the Kapaa traffic :)

We had an awesome experience at Niulana - what a great space, we had a mix of family, younger and older kids and everyone had their space - Priscila was great to work with and when we had any kind of issue or needed anything she was quick to help out - the location is great for getting anywhere - the ONLY thing we had two small issues with, it was VERY warm and humid when we were there and there were plenty of fans, but I think we could have used a couple more large ones for the living space as well and the stove knobs were very hard to read and use -They are in need of replacements - BEAUTIFUL views and nicely maintained house

The property was beautiful, the location terrific and we were very comfortable; however we had a few issues. The dishwasher didn't work, the temperature markings on the stove's knobs were completely rubbed off(so it was a guess as to how hot the burners were), the Surf Shack electricity kept going off (it wasn't the breaker), and the TV in the upstairs Mermaid apt. needs to be fixed or replaced. The property manager responded to my calls, but the electrician never showed up and the fellow responding about the dishwasher took a couple of days to show up, then he had to order a part to fix it, so we hand washed dishes the whole time. For the price of the rental, I feel that the property needs better maintenance and updating. If these things are addressed, I would definitely recommend the property, but not currently. The property manager was great, however!

The home was perfect for our group: separate quarters and bathrooms for everyone, and in a prime location. It was clean, well cared for with only a few "older home" issues, and we were right on the water
