This recently renovated ground floor, garden view 2 bedroom, 1 bath condo in Hilo is beachfront next to Carlsmith Beach Park where you can swim and snorkel all day every day and get up close to the sea turtles! Your home-away-from-home has everything you need for the perfect getaway or extended vacation. The living room is the perfect place to relax after a long day sight-seeing around the Big Island, with a cable TV, DVD, a DVD library, lots of books and games, and of course cable and unlimited high-speed internet. The kitchen is well-equipped with high-end stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, and ideal for making those scrumptious island meals using all the goodies you picked up at the Hilo Farmer's Market. Eat inside at the dining table, or outside on the lanai and let those island breezes take you away. Each bedroom has a comfortable queen bed. The remodeled bathroom is gorgeous. The laundry facility can be located at the end of the corridor. There are complimentary quarters in the jar in the kitchen.

You have access to the shared-use pool on the ground floor.

Enjoyed a relaxing week at this great condo. If you enjoy snorkeling, this is your spot. Wake up, walk outside, snorkel or swim. Unit was updated, clean, and sufficiently supplied. The only drawback was that the patio faces the parking lot (with greenery) and not the ocean. Rental price more than fair though and we did not spend much time inside.

The building is a little dated but the kitchen has been updated and is very nice. No view but a 30 second walk you will be blown away by the view.

We had a wonderful time exploring the Big Island. We used Hilo as our base. Very convenient to drive all around the island. The park next to the condo was delightful! We would totally stay here again. This side of island is very lush and green. People were great. Found many great places to eat

Perfect location to stay while you check out all the big island has to offer. No A/C but sometimes there is a little breeze. We were moved from a single family rental just days before departure so was not the experience we were looking for, however if you are cool with older condos and aren't expecting an ocean view, this was a nice location close to several parks and downtown Hilo!

Stayed in condo in Hilo by Carlsmith Beach Park at Mauna Loa Shores condos. Condo was very clean, bathroom updated. Was a little concerned that having no AC would be too hot but with open windows and fans, it was very pleasant- cool in the mornings. 8-10 minute drive to downtown- lots of fun restaurants. Did the farmers market on Saturday and Tsunami museum. 45 minute drive to Volcano National Park- went 3 times to see lava at daybreak and then to hike Kilauea Iki trail. Had breakfast at The Rim at Volcano house. Very relaxed vibe, different from Kona. Swam at beach.

Small 2 bedroom / 1 bath condo right next to Carlsmith Beach Park. Perfect for a small family. I wouldn't do 4 adults as it might be a little tight trying to share 1 small bathroom and kitchen, etc. They provided starter paper goods, and we had to re-supply while there. There were NO condiments at all which we found odd since every other condo we've ever rented (anywhere else) had at least salt and pepper. Surprised we didn't see any bugs (cockroaches or even geckos). Having to deal with an elevator key was a pain, but I understand why they need it. The pool was nothing special, but the beach park is right next door so go there. Thankfully, being so close to the airport we barely heard the jets. Parking is a bit tricky since the numbers on the spaces are pretty warn out. Being in Hilo, not many places have A/C, so we opened up the windows and doors and turned all the fans on to get some air circulation. Without opening the doors/windows, it gets stuffy. Would be nice if there was a box fan in the main room since the ceiling fan doesn't do much.

The condo had everything we could possibly need during our 2 weeks. Fully set up kitchen with everything for cooking. There was snorkeling and surfing equipment. Towels and beach towels were supplied. Such a peaceful area and you can walk to Carlsmith beach. My husband did not like that the pool was cold.
Well thought out for guests. Just bring your personal items

The Hilo Condo experience was fantastic! It had an updated kitchen that was perfect to make banana pancakes in for breakfast. It was close to Carl Smith Beach which we loved because of all the turtles.

This unit fit us perfectly as a home base while I set my daughter up for school at UH Hilo. Fairly priced, and well equipped, we felt like we had our own little condo, and got that true local feel that we are used to. Parking was easy. Complex was quiet.

We spent our days mesmerized by Carlsmith Park at its crystal blue water. My daughter actually swam with a Honu (turtle) on our very first day at that will be a lasting impression. Magical to say the least. It is a safe place, and people are incredibly friendly.
